Kick-off meeting was held in Bishkek from January 12 to 16, 2026:
• To align international partners, clarifies project goals, defines roles, establishes communication, and builds strong relationships, setting the foundation for successful project execution and avoiding misunderstandings in complex, multicultural collaborations.
• To inform stakeholders
The Kick-off meeting brought together key stakeholders to identify strategic steps and create a shared vision for successful completion:
1. Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation;
2. Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic;
3. National Erasmus+ Office in Kyrgyzstan;
4. Osh Technical University (project coordinator);
5. Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany;
6. University of Maribor, Slovenia;
7. Kyrgyz-German Institute of Applied Informatics;
8. Yerevan State University Foundation;
9. Armenian State University of Economics;
10. Georgian Technical University;
11. University of Business and Technology (Georgia).
"We are excited to launch the DIGITECH project, which aims to launch a new bachelor's degree program in "Digitalization and Automation of Industry" at INAI, advanced training courses, and the creation of a "Digital Twin" technology lab. The kickoff meeting allowed us to align our efforts and lay the foundation for effective work in the coming years," noted Aida Tologonova, Rector of INAI. During the meeting, participants discussed key stages, assigned areas of responsibility, and agreed on success metrics.

During the Kick-off meeting, participants discussed in detail:
• Partnership Agreement;
• The DIGITECH Work Plan. The description of the tasks of the single participants;
• Project management handbook: an overview;
• Project monitoring and Progress Reports (Technical);
• Monitoring the quality of project developments;
• “Sustainability, long-term impact and continuation” strategy;
• General guidelines on Quarterly financial updates;
• Need analysis: Methodologies and Questionary;
• European principles for equipment procurement;
• Events, Communication and dissemination Strategy.
Projects Key objectives include updating Bachelor's degree programs, developing continuous professional development courses, and establishing Digital Twins technology laboratories at participating higher education institutions (HEIs).

The project emphasizes inclusivity, aiming to provide equal opportunities for women, disadvantaged groups, and students from remote regions.

Through collaboration with European universities and industry leaders, DIGITECH will introduce best practices, improve teacher training, and promote sustainable economic development.

The project also aligns with EU policies on digital transformation, green technologies, and open access, ensuring long-term impact and sustainability. By fostering international cooperation and knowledge transfer, DIGITECH aims to create a robust educational framework that prepares students for the challenges of Industry 4.0 and beyond, ultimately contributing to the economic and technological advancement of the participating countries.
